Setting Up Date Schedules

A date schedule specifies whether a specific date is valid or not.

As an example you can set up a schedule that is valid

  • on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
  • only on Fridays, excluding holidays that fall on Fridays
  • on weekends and on certain dates that are holidays (and do not fall on the weekends)
  • on one specific day.

You use a date schedule for the dining area plan templates you set up.

Is the date valid?

When it is checking the validity of a date, the program first checks the Date Restrictions. If the date is not valid according to these restrictions, the answer is NO.

If the date is valid, the program checks the weekday settings. If the date's weekday is valid, the answer is YES. Otherwise, the answer is NO.

Note: If no weekday fields are checked, no dates are ever valid for this date schedule.

To set up a date schedule

  1. Go to Date Schedules.
  2. Insert a new date schedule with an ID and description.
  3. On the General tab, click Valid All Weekdays to mark all the weekday fields. Then you can click certain weekday fields to clear the check box, if appropriate. At least one weekday check box must be selected.
  4. On the Date Restrictions tab, you can enter just a Starting Date to include or exclude a single date. You can enter an Ending Date also to include or exclude a period.
  5. Refer to the field help for Date Schedule for more information.
